Rare & Fine A. MOCKRIDGE Boxwood Plow Plane – Super Color!

$550.00

A fine boxwood plow plane with rosewood nuts by Newark, NJ maker, Abraham Mockridge. This example has survived in excellent condition and has developed superb color over the years. (It’s fairly rare to find a boxwood plow with such spectacular, dark original patina.) Mockridge made planes in Albany, NY beginning in about 1831 as a partner in Bensen & Mockridge. He moved to Newark in 1833 and continued making planes, and in 1835 became a partner in the plane making venture, Mockridge & Francis. A great plow plane.
