ISRAEL WHITE, Philadelphia Dbl. Iron Screw Arm Sash Plane w/ Lignum Boxing & Original Scribe 1833-39

An awesome Israel White plane with lots of great, unique features: This example retains its original sash scribe and has rosewood thumbscrews to separate the halves of the body. I know of only one other plane with these thumbscrews, but they are beech on the other example. The mark on this plane most closely resembles the B2 mark in AWP5, but this example has the eagle figure instead of the tool grouping. Also, this plane is marked with a journeyman style mark of “I.W”, indicating this plane was very likely made by Israel himself. And check out the dovetail style of the boxing! A very special Israel White plane.
