Incredible! HALL & KNAPP / STANLEY No. 45 Iron Machinist Level with Acorn Finials

An extremally rare example with its original green Hall & Knapp label under the vial AND Stanley marked brass top plate. This is one of only two I’ve seen with both companies’ signatures (the other resides in the world’s foremost Stanley tool collection). This would have been leftover Hall & Knapp stock that A. Stanley & Co. acquired and rebranded after the two companies merged in 1857 forming The Stanley Rule & Level Co. A fine original example that has never been cleaned or polished. A very special level.
