Fully Brass Strapped 30.5″ Mahogany Level – Attributed to A.E. Young
Full stock fully brass strapped levels are extremely rare, but are known to have been made by a couple early American makers. This striking example with wonderful mahogany is attributed to circa 1850 Boston maker, A.E. Young. This example is unmarked, but was more than likely only marked with a paper label that long ago separated from the level. An impressive and hefty level, weighing just shy of 5-1/2 pounds.
