Awesome! E.W. CARPENTER Patent 1838 Rosewood & Boxwood Plow Plane

An absolutely gorgeous plow plane by legendary Lancaster, PA plane maker, Emanuel Weidler Carpenter. This plane follows his February 6, 1838 patent for improved arms (patent #594). I love the contrast of the woods and how these planes ooze with over-the-top and unique details. The mark most closely follows the “D” & “D3” marks as shown in AWP5; however the PATENT and IMPROVED ARMS lines are in swapped positions. A tight fissure in the fence and some chips to the fence knobs. Very very good threads. One of the best looking plow planes ever made.
