Super ISRAEL WHITE Dbl. Lignum Boxed Molding Plane 1833-1839

A beautiful plane that is 2 3/8″ wide with double lignum vitae boxing. Heal is marked 4/8 BY INCH & 1/2. Maker mark doesn’t match anything in AWP5. A small piece of boxing is missing at the heel, otherwise the plane is excellent. Israel White began making planes in his father’s shop in Philadelphia in 1825, and continued as a fine plane maker until his untimely death at the age of 35 in 1839.
