Sensational & Uber Rare HARVEY LINTON Patent 1874 Sighting Inclinometer & Level

Original price was: $5,875.00.Current price is: $5,250.00.

Among the most awesome, rare and unique levels I’ve encountered.  Patented March 3, 1874 by Harvey Linton of Brookville, PA, and manufactured by Wm. E. Stieren of Pittsburg, PA.  Fully nickeled face plate with a brass pendulum and level assembly that swings along a graduated arc.  Back side of the tool features a folding brass handle and brass sight housing.  Absolutely amazing original condition retaining basically all original finish.  Screws still retain original bluing.  One of only two known such examples.  An extremely rare and special, fresh to the market inclinometer.  Length: 6.25″. Height: 4″.

For more information about Linton and his patent, see Jim Gehring’s suburb (as always) article in the Fine Tool Journal – Vol. 74, No. 4, 2025.
