Rare! Type One A. STANLEY & CO. No. 12 Carpenters Slide Rule with Gunter’s Scales

A very rare, honest survivor made 1854-1857 by A. Stanley & Co. Warranted boxwood with arch joint and scales on outer edge. Tight fit retaining both pins. Marked with the model number and “E” and “M”. A really nice pre-Civil War rule. In 1857, A. Stanley & Co. merged with Hall & Knapp and formed The Stanley Rule & Level Company – the rest is history.
