Rare & Important POOL & SON Iron Inclinometer

A very rare and special 9-3/4″ iron level made by John Pool & Son of Easton, MA. Brass top plate is marked “Patent Pending”, however no patent, or application for one, has been found for this design. Perfectly balanced proportions and elegant form make it among the most attractive iron levels from the mid 1800’s. The pinnacle of Pool levels, and a masterpiece of the tool world. Previously from the legendary collection of Don Rosebrook.
