Rare & Fine! Type 1 STANLEY No. 32 Mahogany Inclinometer – Eagle Trademark

$850.00

Excellent 28″ example patented April 21, 1863 by Frederick Traut. This is one of only two of the earliest examples I’ve seen without a plumb vial. Incredible original condition retaining most all of the original lacquer finish. Original label inset behind the inclinometer assembly is about 85% intact. At some point, a previous owner put a coat of something over the label in an attempt to preserve it. Both vials are full and working. A special early Stanley level that was patented and made during the Civil War.
