A great example of a rare rule made 1854-1857 by A. Stanley & Co. of New Britain, CT. Two foot two fold warranted boxwood with brass slide. Very good original condition with both pins. Great early mark with starbursts. Not marked with the model number, but looks to be a No. 26.
In 1857, A. Stanley & Co. merged with Hall & Knapp and formed The Stanley Rule & Level Company – the rest is history. A really nice pre-Civil War rule.
