Gorgeous! A.E. BALDWIN Ebony Plow Plane with Deluxe Trimmings 1830-41

An absolutely stunning early plow plane by half brothers Austin & Elbridge Baldwin who worked in New York City from 1830-1841. Four deluxe tips adorn boxwood arms which, together with boxwood nuts and washers, have developed rich color and contrast beautifully with the solid ebony body and fence. The form and figure of the nuts add a real standout look to this plane. A bit of thread chipping and a mishap to the underside of the fence should be noted, but do not detract from how strikingly this plow displays.
