Robert W. MacCubbin was born in 1812 and began making planes in about 1837 in the partnership Kendall & MacCubbin (there are no known examples). He is then listed as a planemaker by himself beginning in 1840 in Baltimore, MD. This excellent example has a beech body and fence, with boxwood arms, nuts and washers. AWP5 “A” mark rated one star rarity.
