Beautiful Figured Applewood Plow Plane Dated 1835

Stunning figured applewood with a fence carved with pinwheel decoration, initialed “AS” and dated 1835. A very knowledgeable Pennsylvania plane collector noted it could be of Pennsylvania Dutch origin, made by an immigrant craftsman who continued the European style of his craft in his new land. Either way, it’s a beautiful plane. OAL: 13.5″.
