Awesome & Rare! WELCH & GRIFFITHS, Boston 14 Inch Split-Nut Back Saw – 1840’s

A rare and very early back saw by Welch & Griffiths of Boston, Mass. This awesome original example is as found and unmessed with. Super handle with great patina, and check out that lambs tongue! Large blind medallion with split nuts that haven’t been polished. To my knowledge, there are fewer than ten known back saws by Welch & Griffiths. A fantastic pre-Civil War tool that is about 175 years old.
