18″ Fitchburg Level with Original Orange Labels – Pat. 1886

A very fine example of Edward E. Webb’s patent of Dec. 7, 1886 made by the Fitchburg Level Co. of Fitchburg, Mass. Extremely rare with orange labels, and the 18″ size is also very uncommon in and of itself. Milling marks are strong and most of the original japanning remains. All three vials are full, working and original. A small chip in the corner of one of the side covers in the only thing to note. This is the only 18″ example with orange labels I know of.
