Very Early 24″ Level with End Plumb – Circa 1800

Very early mahogany level with a unique brass end cap plumb feature. Exceptionally long 11″ cast brass top plate with tombstone ends covers a very early, very long “flat” vial that I estimate is 7″ in length. (A vial longer than 6″ in a wooden stock carpenters level is almost unheard of.) I date this level to the the very early 1800’s, and quite possibly last quarter 1700’s. Both vials are full and working. Wooden levels this early are very rare.
