Uber Rare Variation! Early! FISHER Patent 1868 Combination Bevel, Level, Inclinometer & Square

This is the only example I’m aware of of this very early style that most closely follows the patent drawings. Somewhat crude construction makes me feel this may have been a working model. Note how the brass top plate is open ended and appears too short, and the odd groove in the top edge, but this is how the piece was purposefully made. Inner thumbscrew doesn’t stay tensioned in the body. OAL: 12-1/4″. A super rare and important combination bevel. Possibly a unique example.
