Incredible! STANLEY No. 48 Iron Frame Level with ROSEWOOD Infill

A fantastic 12″ example with gorgeous rosewood. These very rare #48’s with rosewood, instead of the advertised black walnut infill, are thought to be the very earliest offering of these levels (it’s also possible these were made for the great Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia). No cracks or breaks in the iron frame, and both vials are full and working with the proper early green paper under them. I only know of about 5-6 of these with rosewood. A very special Stanley level.
