Excellent! STANLEY No. 5-1/2C ‘Extra Wide’ Corrugated Jack Plane (Type 1?)

A very fine example retaining virtually all of the original japanning. Rosewood tote and knob are excellent. 1892 patent date on cutter. Follows the general type study as a type 7 (1893-1899). However, the #5-1/2 wasn’t introduced until 1898, so if a type study were to be done for the #5-1/2 itself, this is probably the earliest type of this model. L: 15″. W: 2-13/16″. Cutter: 2-3/8″.
