Awesome & Early J. Nichols 6″ Rosewood Try Square – Philadelphia 1837-1857
Joseph Nichols is listed as a saw and square maker in Philadelphia, PA from 1837 to 1857. A great pre-Civil War square that has survived in wonderful condition. Bold mark and unique brass escutcheons! The only tool by this maker I have observed.
