Astounding WOODROUGH & McPARLIN Patent 1882 Prototype Back Saw

While there are no production models known, this one example is thought to be the original working model or prototype of James R. Woodrough’s patent of January 17, 1882 for a one piece handle and spine. The mahogany handle and spine are secured with five brass split nuts. A very special tool.
